The second summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un concluded on Thursday without the scheduled ceremony to sign a joint declaration.
In a press conference, Trump described this second summit with the North Korean leader as “productive”.
According to President Trump, North Korea offered to dismantle the Yongbyon nuclear center in exchange of lifting all sanctions but did not accept to talk about other facilities, such as the uranium enrichment plant.
Regarding denuclearization commitments, Trump said he confirmed that the visions of both countries are very different, but are “closer” than a year ago. “We’ll see what happens,” he said.
“We asked him to do more, but he was not prepared to do it,” added U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
