Obama shared his favorite books, movies and songs of 2018

Former President Obama shared a list of his favorite books, movies and songs of 2018 on Thursday. “As 2018 draws to a close, I’m continuing a favorite tradition of mine and sharing my year-end lists,” Barack Obama wrote on Facebook.

Among his picks were books written by his wife,Michelle Obama, Nelson Mandela or Ben Rhodes, as well as songs from Cardi B and movies including “Black Panther.”

“It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved.” — Obama wrote on Facebook

Obama’s favorite movies included Black Panther, Roma, The Death of Stalin, BlacKkKlansman, Shoplifters or Eighth Grade.

For his favorite songs, Obama picked artists such as Cardi B, Prince or Nancy Wilson, who died this year at 81.

“And in honor of one of the great jazz singers of all time, who died this year, a classic album: The Great American Songbook by Nancy Wilson.”
