Michael Cohen sentenced to 3 years in prison

Former Donald Trump lawyer, Michael Cohen, was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to nine federal charges stemming from campaign finance violations related to payments to women alleging personal affairs with Donald Trump.

Prosecutors said last week Cohen committed illegal acts directed by the president of the United States but Trump has denied it.

Although the president thought about the possibility of pardoning Paul Manafort, who plead guilty to fraud, that possibility is off the table right now for Michael Cohen.

Michael Cohen’s attorney, Lanny Davis, said on Wednesday “at the appropriate time, after Mr. Mueller completes his investigation and issues his final report, I look forward to assisting Michael to state publicly all he knows about Mr. Trump – and that includes any appropriate Congressional committee interested in the search for the truth and the difference between facts and lies.”
