Fernando Lumbreras was found dead in his house at the age of 60 in Valencia, Spain. His dead body was found tied to a chair and severely beaten, according to local authorities.
Lumbreras, who was known by being the first president and founder of ‘LGTB Lambda’ organization was also a very popular and active person in his neighborhood. When the police arrived to his home, the house was in a whirl, but the door was not forced.
Miguel Angel Fernandez, friend and former Lambda coordinator spoke with ElMundo and said: “He was fighter. We are shocked by this news because Fernando was a calm and happy man who always welcomed us into his house when we didn’t have a place to make a meeting.”
LGTB community in Spain urged police to carry out a rigorous investigation and try to judge those responsible and, also, to find out if it could be a homophobic crime.
Hui és un dia trist. Fernando Lumbreras, una de les primeres persones al capdavant de Lambda ha estat trobat mort a sa casa.
Volem per damunt de tot recordar i fer honor al gran treball que Fernando va fer pels drets LGTBI.
