Approximately 87,000 women were murdered in 2017 in the U.S. as United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reported. One every six hours.

UNODC Executive Director Yury Fedotov said that “while vast majority of homicide victims are men, women pay the price of discrimination and inequality. They are also the most likely to be killed by intimate partners and family”
